About HZCU

Hangzhou City University (HZCU) is a full-time public university approved by China's Ministry of Education and organized by Hangzhou Municipal People’s Government. It was established in 1999, originally registered under the name of Zhejiang University City College.

HZCU is located in Hangzhou, a world-renowned historical and cultural city, a city of innovation and vitality, and a capital of ecological civilization, adjacent to the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, a world cultural heritage.Its campus covers a land area of about 67 hectares with a floor space of over 510,000 square meters. HZCU consists of 13 schools and 1 Sino-foreign Joint Institute.

HZCU currently offers 34 undergraduate programs covering 9 disciplines, including economics, law, liberal arts, history, science, engineering, medicine, management and art. There are more than 12,300 full-time undergraduate students, over 600 graduate students.

HZCU actively engages in opening-up and educational internationalization. It has established exchanges and cooperation with universities and institutions in the United States, Japan, Germany, New Zealand, Italy, and other countries and regions. By introducing high-quality international educational resources, HZCU has co-founded a Sino-foreign cooperative institution with the University of Waikato (New Zealand) and the International Health Science Center with Loma Linda University (USA), establishing distinctive strengths in international education.


Admission Requirements

Basic Requirements

1. Foreign citizens holding valid foreign passports, friendly to China, and with no criminal records.

2. The eligibility for application should comply with the relevant regulations of China's Ministry of Education.

3. Applicants should be between 18 and 25 years old and have graduated from high school.

Language Requirements

No Chinese language proficiency requirement for applicants to the one-year Chinese language program.

4. Fill in the personal information correctly and upload the required documents;

5. Save and submit the application;

6. Wait for the admission result.


Fees

Tuition: RMB 14,000 per academic year

AccommodationFee: RMB 3200 per student per academic year (twin room, two students share 1 room)

Insurance

All international students coming to study in China must purchase insurance,with the minimum premium standard set at 800 RMB per student per year. Those who fail to purchase the required insurance can not be registered.
