On September 5, the 8th Hangzhou International Day commenced. During the ceremony, Hangzhou City University (HZCU) and the University of Verona signed a cooperation agreement. The signing was conducted by Yang Bo, President of HZCU, and Professor Roberta Facchinetti, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Verona, who was authorized as the signing representative by the University of Verona’s President.

Despite the great distance between them, Hangzhou and Verona have developed a profound friendship, rooted in shared historical and cultural resonance as well as common perspectives on urban development. The signing of the cooperation agreement between HZCU and the University of Verona represents a concrete step in deepening the framework of friendly exchanges between the two cities, further advancing their relationship from "friendly engagement" to "win-win cooperation."

According to the agreement, HZCU and the University of Verona will engage in comprehensive and multi-level collaboration focused on areas such as cultural heritage protection, archaeological conservation, and architecture. This includes facilitating mutual visits for faculty and researchers to create channels for sharing academic resources; carrying out student exchange programs to cultivate interdisciplinary talents with international perspectives; jointly promoting research projects and organizing workshops and seminars to conduct collaborative studies on topics like the digital preservation of cultural heritage and the restoration of ancient buildings; and co-hosting cultural exchange activities to foster dialogue and integration between the historical and cultural contexts of China and Italy.
