
On September 28, a delegation led by Christoforos Siafakas, Mayor of Arta, Greece, and Dimitrios Athanasakopoulos, Deputy Mayor of Messini, Greece, visited Hangzhou City University.



Dong Yue, Chair of the University Council, extended a warm welcome to the visiting guests. He noted that Greece’s millennia-old philosophical wisdom, Hangzhou’s profound cultural heritage spanning ancient and modern times, and the university’s years of innovative practices hold great potential for cross-temporal and mutually beneficial cooperation. He expressed hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to explore collaborative initiatives in areas such as cultural heritage protection, urban planning, and archaeological excavation, including joint talent cultivation. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of mutual support, mutual learning, and complementary efforts in advancing the Global Civilization Initiative, working together to empower the inheritance of civilization.



The delegation visited the University’s Grand Archaeology Innovation Research Center and the Digital Culture Innovation Research Institute, and engaged in discussions on topics such as mutual learning between Chinese and Western cultures, digital preservation of cultural heritage, and the living transmission of cultural heritage.
