The University of Waikato Joint Institute at Hangzhou City University (NZUWI) is a Sino-foreign cooperative educational institution between the Hangzhou City University (HZCU) and the University of Waikato (UW) in New Zealand. Officially approved by China's Ministry of Education in September 2016, NZUWI began to enroll students in September 2017. NZUWI is the first Sino-foreign education institute in the higher education in Hangzhou and the first of its kind in China. NZUWI aims to build a first-class international education institute with distinctive features, strong faculties, advanced teaching facilities, excellent education quality, and significant social benefits.
