The Opening of 2023 International Cultural Festivalof HZCUand the 23rd Foreign Language& Cultural Festival ofSchool of Foreign Languages

Hangzhou City University (HZCU) officially kicked off its 2023 International Cultural Festival and the 23rd Foreign Language& Cultural Festival ofSchool of Foreign Languages on November 24th. Vice President Jin Tao and Deputy Director Li Daoqiao from the Hangzhou Municipal People's Government Foreign Affairs Office attended the opening ceremony. Over the past year, HZCU has made steady progress in various international cooperation initiatives, including collaborative education programs, international student education, and the introduction of global talents. The university has actively sought high-quality educational resources through diverse channels, aiming to enhance its capabilities in talent development, scientific research, and social services on the international stage.

Vice President Jin Tao expressed in his address that the International Exchange Cultural Festival provides a platform to strengthen the internationalenvironment on campus and enhance the university's global image. With the theme "Encounterat HZCU, Envisioning the World," this year's festival focuses on international exchange and cooperation, aiming to provide a stage for sharing experiences, exchanging viewpoints, and showcasing achievements among faculty and students. The festival is expected to foster a more inclusive and diverse international atmosphere, encouraging more students and faculty to engage ininternational exchanges and connect with the world.

To celebrate the opening of the festival, congratulatory videos were sent by Mr. Wang Libing,Chief of Section for Educational Innovation and Skills Development, UNESCO Regional Office in Bangkok, and Mr. Abdul Latif Mazzouz,Vice-President of Sino-North Africa Education Innovation Association. The festivities included a tea art performance by Guo Zhen, a nationally certified tea-appraiser and a bilingual tea art master who graduated from HZCU in 2010. Additionally, international and Chinese students joined together in singing and dancing, with seven international students sharing their positive impressions ofHZCU from Thailand, Morocco, Chile, Kazakhstan, Algeria, and Nigeria.

These initiatives aim to further deepen and solidify international exchanges and cooperation at Hangzhou City University.
