On December 12,

the second donation ceremony for the Hu Jianxiong Scholarship and Education Fund was held at Hangzhou City University.

The event welcomed a special guest,

Mrs. FAN Zhijin, the wife of Mr. HU Jianxiong.

She encouraged students to study hard, serve the country, and contribute to society.

Her words moved everyone present at the event.

HU Jianxiong, the former Executive Vice President of Zhejiang University, held advisory roles at the HZCU and served as the Director of the Expert Consultation Committee. As one of the founding members of HZCU, he played a leading role in obtaining permissions from the Ministry of Education, collaborating with leaders from both Hangzhou Municipal government, Zhejiang University and HZCU to explore innovative educational systems and models during the HZCU’s initial stages. His broad vision, remarkable foresight, and rich experience provided guidance and assistance for the university’s educational positioning and development, contributing significantly to establishing a distinct, high-quality, and dynamic local first-class comprehensive university.

In May 2022, Mr. HU Jianxiong passed away due to illness. In honor of his spirit of great love and to carry forward his legacy, the “Hangzhou City University HU Jianxiong Scholarship and Education Fund” was established in June 2022. Mrs. FAN Zhijin, along with 27 other compassionate individuals, including their children, donated 4.0734 million yuan. Up to now, the fund has received generous contributions from 43 caring individuals, totaling 26.1143 million yuan in agreed donations. It’s the largest open-ended fund in the HZCU’s educational fund history, primarily supporting high-quality development work such as students and faculty exchange programs abroad, various talent cultivation initiatives, and faculty development.
