Professor SHEN Li-Yin was selected again as a Global Highly Cited Researcher in 2023

Professor SHEN Liyin from the School of Spacial Planning and Design at Hangzhou City University has once again been selected as one of the "Highly Cited Researchers" for the year 2023, according to the announcement by Clarivate Analytics on November 15. This prestigious recognition honors researchers worldwide who have made significant contributions to their respective disciplines, demonstrating global influence in natural and social sciences. Professor Shen has achieved this recognition for the third consecutive time.

A total of 6,849 scientists from over 1,300 institutions across 67 countries and regions were included in this year's list, 1,275 researchers are from the Chinese mainland, ranking second globally. Clarivate Analytics determines the "Highly Cited Researchers" based on the analysis of influential scientists, institutions, papers, journals, and countries in 22 academic disciplines, using data from the Web of Science Core Collection, which includes academic journal articles and citation data. Inclusion in this list underscores the significant academic impact of these top-tier scientists within their peer communities, indicating their global influence and outstanding contributions to their research fields.

The selection process for the "Highly Cited Researchers" list is conducted annually by Clarivate Analytics. This year's list is based on the number of highly cited papers published between January 2012 and December 2022, covering an 11-year period. The selection criteria involve a rigorous evaluation and compilation of highly cited paper data from journals indexed in SCIE and SSCI by experts at the Clarivate Analytics Institute for Scientific Information, encompassing 188,500 highly cited papers across various disciplines.
